Gemalto is an international digital security company that provides software applications, secure personal devices such as smart cards and tokens, e-wallets, and managed services.
The company was founded in June 2006 through the merger of Axalto and Gemplus International.
In 2018, Gemalto NV reported a revenue of €2.969 billion.
In April 2019, Gemalto was acquired by Thales Group and now operates under the name Thales DIS (Digital Identity and Security). Before the acquisition, Gemalto was the world’s largest SIM card manufacturer.
Thales DIS is headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with subsidiaries and affiliated companies in multiple countries. The company has approximately 15,000 employees across 110 offices, along with 24 production sites, 47 personalization centers, and 35 R&D centers in 47 countries.
ITC began its partnership with Gemalto in 2016 and is currently recognized as a Project Partner of Gemalto.
