RSA Security LLC, formerly known as RSA Security, Inc., and commonly referred to as RSA, is an American computer and network security company specializing in encryption and decryption standards.
The company’s name RSA comes from the initials of its founders: Ron Rivest, Adi Shamir, and Leonard Adleman, who also developed the RSA public-key cryptography algorithm.
Among RSA’s key products are the SecurID authentication tokens, and it originally owned the BSAFE cryptographic libraries.
RSA is also known for incorporating NSA-developed backdoors into its products. Additionally, the company organizes the annual RSA Conference, one of the most prominent events in information security.
