ITC JSC Deploys Viettel’s Next-Generation AI Supercomputing Infrastructure

ITC JSC is proud to share that, following our May 2025 contract award, we are now delivering Viettel’s next-generation supercomputing and AI infrastructure under a landmark 1,117 billion VND project. As lead of a consortium of top-tier partners, ITC has begun phased deployment of one of the country’s most advanced computing systems to date, a critical step in Vietnam’s drive toward sovereign AI capability.

A Strategic Leap: Building Vietnam’s AI Sovereignty

This investment is about far more than hardware. It positions Vietnam at the forefront of AI development in Southeast Asia, providing a national backbone for AI research, development, and deployment. With it, Viettel can independently develop and train large language models, build domain-specific AI solutions, and support a wide range of next-generation applications, while bringing data processing, storage, and model training fully within Vietnam’s borders and reducing reliance on foreign cloud infrastructure.

Beyond AI, the system supports high-performance computing for scientific modeling and simulation, and underpins the broader digital transformation of public services, telecom, and enterprise sectors. It also opens new doors for innovation, giving researchers, universities, and startups access to massive computing power. This makes it not just a tech project, but a long-term platform for ecosystem development.

The Architecture Behind the Vision

At the heart of the deployment is the ASUS ESC N8-E11, one of the most powerful AI platforms available globally. Each 7U rackmount node pairs dual 5th Gen Intel Xeon processors with up to eight NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs on the NVIDIA HGX architecture, forming a high-density cluster built for the most demanding AI workloads.

Memory, storage, and networking are engineered for scale: 32 DDR5 DIMM slots, multiple PCIe Gen5 lanes, and high-throughput NVMe drives. A dedicated one-GPU-per-NIC topology ensures optimal bandwidth per GPU and eliminates common training bottlenecks, while NVLink and NVSwitch enable up to 900 GB/s of GPU-to-GPU bandwidth, essential for model parallelism and multi-GPU inference.

NVIDIA H100 & the Full AI Software Stack

At the core is the NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPU, purpose-built for next-generation AI, from LLM training to simulation and analytics. Its fourth-generation Tensor Cores and Transformer Engine deliver up to 30× faster large language model inference compared with the previous A100 generation.

But compute is only half the story. The platform is tightly integrated with NVIDIA’s AI software ecosystem, including:

  • NVIDIA AI Enterprise, a cloud-native suite for building and deploying production-grade AI with enterprise support.
  • NVIDIA NGC, a library of pre-trained models, optimized containers, SDKs, and tools tuned for NVIDIA hardware.
  • Core frameworks such as CUDA, cuDNN, TensorRT, and NeMo, accelerating work across machine learning, deep learning, and HPC.

Together, this end-to-end hardware-and-software integration gives Viettel a fully optimized AI environment, shortening time to deployment and simplifying infrastructure management across use cases.

Built for Efficiency and Sustainability

Performance at this scale demands thermal and operational efficiency by design. The system uses independent cooling zones for CPUs and GPUs for precise airflow management, with direct-to-chip liquid cooling available for high-density loads to maintain stability under sustained operation while reducing power draw. Redundant 80 PLUS Titanium–certified power supplies ensure high availability and optimized energy use.

Globally Proven, Locally Delivered

The ASUS ESC N8-E11 is already proven at national scale. In Taiwan, the Ubilink supercomputer, powered by 128 of these servers and 1,024 H100 GPUs, reached 45.82 PFLOPS and secured rankings in both the global TOP500 and Green500. That track record validates the performance, energy efficiency, and real-world scalability of the architecture ITC is now delivering for Viettel.

What’s Next

Deployment is rolling out in phases across Viettel’s infrastructure, with full integration planned across data centers and AI research facilities. ITC will provide training, technical support, and long-term optimization so the system continues to evolve with Viettel’s mission.

This isn’t just a milestone for ITC. It’s a bold step forward for Vietnam’s AI future, and we’re honored to help lay the digital foundation for a more intelligent, innovative, and self-reliant nation.
