Client: Vietnam Mobile Telecom Services Company – VMS
- Demands
VMS operates a large mobile network system with nationwide coverage, offering more than 40 different services. The company’s network of agents is constantly connected to its internal network and only uses standard account and password authentication. Therefore, from an information security perspective, VMS constantly faces potential risks from various sources, especially issues related to password security. - Solution
The VMS project was implemented across three major centers: VMS1 in Hanoi, VMS2 in Ho Chi Minh City, VMS3 in Can Tho, and the company’s head office in Hanoi. The system includes up to 5 authentication servers and 1,500 token devices for user authentication. The RSA SecurID solution has been successfully integrated and used with many of VMS’s systems, such as: Active Directory, router/switch systems, Cisco Aironet wireless system, SSL VPN, Windows VPN, and Checkpoint firewall. Currently, VMS is effectively operating this two-factor authentication solution and plans to expand it further to the VMS3 center in Da Nang in the future. - Benefits
